Arsenal announce deal for Stoke 18yo

Arsenal have signed Jaden Dixon from Stoke City, with the 18-year-old joining on a four-year contract and the club finally announcing it almost 24 hours after the window shut.

The agreement was reported on Monday by Fabrizio Romano, who wrote on social media, “EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal agree deal to sign England U19 international Jaden Dixon on a four-year deal. Deal completed for £3.2m plus add-ons. Arsenal view the player as a massive signing beating several clubs to the signings.”

That fee, however, seems to be significantly over-inflated.

The player then confirmed that he was leaving Stoke, writing on Instagram, “My time at Stoke has come to an end. I want to say a huge thank you to all the coaches that have supported me over the years. Thank you @stokecity for a time I’ll never forget 🤝 @truthsportsmanagementltd”

Finally, just after 5pm on Tuesday, Arsenal confirmed the deal.

Dixon is viewed as a long-term defensive prospect, described in reports as a modern, ball-playing defender comfortable stepping out from the back and contributing in possession, a profile that fits closely with Arsenal’s approach at academy and development level.

He can play centre-back or right-back.

The teenager came through Tottenham Hotspur’s youth system before joining Stoke City’s academy in the summer of 2023, where his progress quickly attracted wider attention across the domestic game.

At international level, Dixon made his debut for England Under-19s on 3 September 2025 in a 2-0 win over Ukraine at the Pinatar Arena and has since been a regular presence in squad selections at that age group.

Arsenal’s move secures the defender ahead of rival interest and underlines the club’s continued focus on recruiting elite young talent with a clear pathway for development within their long-term planning.
