Inter Milan are in advanced talks to sign Brooke Norton-Cuffy from Genoa, with negotiations ongoing for a permanent transfer and Arsenal set to profit.

Fabrizio Romano reports that with Inter Milan missing out on Ivan Perisic of PSV Eindhoven, the club have pivoted to trying to sign Brooke Norton-Cuffy on a permanent deal from Genoa.
Romano claims Inter are in advanced and concrete talks over the transfer, pushing to get a deal done before deadline day on Monday.
Arsenal have a sell-on clause in their former player’s contract, and Romano reports that the value of that clause is 20%. That could come to a significant amount, depending on how much Genoa hold out for. There was talk earlier in the window that they wanted around €20m.

Arsenal received an initial €2m for Norton-Cuffy’s sale to Genoa in 2024, plus another €2m in potential add-ons. Given Norton-Cuffy’s consistent appearances and Genoa’s survival in Serie A last season, it’s likely at least some of those add-ons have been activated.
Adding another ~€3-4m on top of that through the sell-on clause would be a bonus, and it would represent better business than Arsenal have done for most of their recent academy graduates who leave before reaching the Gunners’ first team.

Whilst Arsenal have made more money from the likes of Joe Willock, Folarin Balogun, Eddie Nketiah, and Emile Smith Rowe, those were all instances where the academy player had broken into the senior side long before being sold.
Norton-Cuffy never played a competitive game for Mikel Arteta’s side, and it’s in this regard that Arsenal really need to improve with strong loans and well-negotiated sales at the right time.
