Arsenal make decision on mid-season Dubai trip

Arsenal aren’t currently planning to have a mid-season trip to Dubai this campaign, with the Gunners’ schedule too busy to accommodate such a break.

Tom Canton reports for Football.London that Arsenal aren’t set to fly off to Dubai for a mid-season training camp this season, and their training schedule this week will be roughly the same as normal despite no midweek fixture.

Arsenal’s positive performances in the Champions League mean they won’t be involved in the midweek knockout play-off round, so the Gunners don’t have a game until Sunday, seven days after last weekend’s derby win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Even so, Canton reports that Arsenal are set for their usual period of time off over the next 24-48 hours, before returning to training as usual.

This is one of the last midweeks Arsenal will have for a while, should the team keep progressing in all competitions.

The Gunners’ next significant break will be for the March internationals, which won’t be much of a rest for the majority of the squad involved with their national teams.

Assuming Arsenal continue to progress in the Champions League, the next midweek break will be between April 18th (Premier League – Manchester City vs Arsenal) and the following weekend, which will either be the FA Cup semi-final or the Premier League visit from Newcastle United.

That’s a good time to get a break, allowing Arsenal to go all out against their title rivals before a midweek rest. But it’s pretty much the only other rest the team will get until the end of the season, unless there are some eliminations on the horizon.

So if the squad want to be as successful as possible this season, they should make the most of these next few days.
