Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Marc Cucurella and Estevao will be unavailable for Chelsea away to Arsenal this weekend, in a blow to Sunday’s visitors.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior confirmed that Marc Cucurella and Estevao are set to miss their match against Arsenal this weekend, in addition to other longer-term absentees like Jamie Gittens.
“Estevao will be out for a little bit longer and Jamie Gittens is progressing in his rehab,” Rosenior said. “Cucu is not available for Sunday.”

Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo have both been out for a while now, but Rosenior confirmed they’ve featured in training this week.
“Romeo is getting stronger and stronger,” Rosenior added. “We had a mini practice match in the week where he looked really good. Dario Essugo is back on the training pitch, too.”
Even so, the expectation is that Essugo probably won’t feature against Arsenal, and that Lavia will begin on the bench.

Chelsea’s other significant absentees will be Mykhailo Mudryk (suspended due to an anti-doping charge), Wesley Fofana (suspended due to a red card), and Levi Colwill (injured).
For once, it seems as though Cole Palmer is in a pretty good position to start the match. He’s only started two of Chelsea’s seven matches against Arsenal since joining, and none since 2024.
