Arsenal’s WSL game at Brighton was postponed around two hours before kick-off due to a water-logged pitch.
Arsenal confirmed the decision, saying that following an inspection when the pitch covers were removed, the officials made the decision to call the match off.
Tim Stillman reports that inspection took place at 12.15pm. Arsenal’s article went live at 12.55pm.
With Arsenal already a game behind everyone else in the WSL due to their participation in the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, Arsenal now face a headache in trying to fit in this game against Brighton.
Considering the weather, and the forecast, questions are certainly being asked as to why it took so long to make this decision. With the game due to kick-off at 2.30pm, many Arsenal fans had already arrived in Brighton, with more en-route.
