With 2026 now underway, the Premier League have wrapped up the last calendar year by holding a fan vote for their team of 2025.

The results have now been confirmed, with Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jurrien Timber, and David Raya all featuring in the side.

William Saliba was unlucky to miss out, receiving the 14th-most votes of any player in any position. Leandro Trossard also made it into the top-20.

The Premier League highlighted Raya for his Golden Glove award in the first half of the year and the fact he’s topping the standings in the second half as well.

They noted Gabriel for helping Arsenal to concede the fewest goals per match of any player with 25+ Premier League appearances in 2025, as well as his goals and assists.

Timber got a mention for having the third-highest goal involvements of any defender and the highest expected goals, as well as his part in Arsenal’s defensive efforts.

Then Rice was highlighted for his all-around impressive displays in multiple positions, scoring, assisting, breaking up opposition attacks, and causing problems from set-pieces.

Amusingly, there’s no Liverpool representation in the team, despite Arne Slot’s side winning the Premier League title during the first half of 2025.

That’s presumably because Liverpool have been so far off the pace in the second half of the season, whilst players from other teams were consistent throughout the calendar year. If Mohamed Salah had been more productive from August-December he presumably would have made it in.

As it turned out, Dominik Szoboszlai was the closest, reaching 16th in the vote standings.
