Fenerbache have reportedly submitted a bid of over £23m to sign former Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, but Lazio are yet to accept it.

Following recent reports of Premier League interest in Matteo Guendouzi from Sunderland, L’Equipe now claim that Fenerbahce are seriously entering the race.
According to the French outlet (via GFFN), Fenerbahce have submitted a €27m (£23.4m) bid for Guendouzi. The same report suggests at least two unnamed Premier League clubs are interested and yet to bid, with Sunderland possibly one of them.

Given no other bids have been placed, Fenerbahce are currently leading the race, and they’ve already held several days of talks. But Lazio are yet to accept the €27m bid, and Fenerbahce haven’t even reached an agreement on personal terms with Guendouzi yet.
The 26-year-old has made 16 appearances for Lazio this season, but there’s been no sign of his fiery temperament settling down.
Guendouzi has just returned from his second suspension of the season, having picked up a red card against AS Roma in September, then a one-game ban for five yellow cards in December.
That means Guendouzi has served suspensions in all of his seasons with Lazio so far, picking up a red-card ban in 2023/24 and a yellow-card ban for a selection of his 10 bookings in 2024/25.

Exactly where Guendouzi might end up this month remains a mystery, and he may yet decide to stay. With a contract lasting until 2028, there’s little pressure on Lazio to sell at this stage.
