PSG star could leave this summer after Arsenal show interest

Bradley Barcola could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, following an approach for the player by Arsenal in 2025.

L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi has revealed that Bradley Barcola could be on the move this summer, saying (via GFFN): “I think that Barcola will be a real topic next summer, to leave Paris Saint-Germain.”

Sky Sports have linked PSG with a move for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, and Tanzi suggested the Ligue 1 side may well make a forward signing this month in anticipation of Barcola’s summer exit.

Arsenal will be interested if Barcola is available, with L’Equipe reporting over the summer that the Gunners had made an approach for the winger, along with Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

At the time, Barcola decided he was content with his situation at PSG and wanted to stay, with the club similarly happy to hold onto him. As a result, a decision was made relatively early in the window that he wasn’t for sale.

But perhaps things will be different in 2026, for a couple of reasons.

For a start, Barcola’s contract will be one year closer to expiry. The 23-year-old has a deal lasting until 2028, which was still a long time last summer, but by this summer PSG may feel it’s time to either extend or cash in, and they’ve been unsuccessful in all of their extension attempts so far.

Then there’s the fact Barcola’s output hasn’t been quite so impressive this campaign. After 42 goals and assists in 64 games last season, the player has eight in 22 this campaign.

Part of that is down to the fact he’s not starting as consistently (with one start in PSG’s last six Ligue 1 games), but there’s also just been a dip in form.

Perhaps a chance of scenery would suit everyone involved, particularly with the high-profile nature of the suitors interested in the transfer.
