Ahead of Arsenal’s game against Bournemouth on Saturday, there were doubts about the involvement of Declan Rice in the fixture.

Rice had missed out on the Gunners’ previous game against Aston Villa after a kick on the knee left him with a swollen knee, and there was no certainty he’d make it back in time for the Bournemouth clash.

Arsenal fans will be very grateful he did, as the midfielder went on to score the team’s second and third goals in a tight 3-2 victory.

The supporters showed their gratitude in the stands by debuting a new chant for Rice, to the tune of “That’s the Way (I Like It)” by KC and the Sunshine Band.

The lyrics are as follows: “Declan Rice, in red and white, I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh! Declan Rice, in red and white, I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh! Do, do-do, do-do-do, do, do, do. Do, do-do, do-do-do, do, do, do.”

Arsenal fans did already have a chant for Rice, regularly singing “Declan Rice, we got him half price” at matches.

The old chant was a reference to the fact that Arsenal paid a club-record fee for the former West Ham United midfielder, yet he still seems to be providing excellent value. His ex-manager David Moyes has repeatedly suggested West Ham should have brought in a lot more.

The new chant doesn’t need much explaining, but it’s a fun one, and it’s always good to have new songs to sing in the stands.
