Armstrong Oko-Flex has finally generated a transfer fee six years after leaving Arsenal, with Levski Sofia completing a €300,000 deal to sign the former academy winger from Botev Plovdiv.

Oko-Flex spent five years in Arsenal’s youth system after joining in 2013, having been spotted in Dublin while playing for Tolka Rovers and St Kevin’s Boys by Liam Brady.
He progressed through the Hale End age groups and represented both the Republic of Ireland and England at under-16 level before seeming to settle on Ireland, playing for their u17s, u19s, u20s and u21s.
Arsenal offered him a scholarship deal, but in 2018 he chose to leave for Celtic, believing there was a clearer first-team pathway in Glasgow.
He signed for Celtic’s under-18 side, was promoted to their B team and made his first-team debut in January 2021, before leaving on the expiry of his contract in June 2021 after just two senior appearances.
He joined West Ham United on a free transfer, scoring 14 goals in 35 games for their under-21 team and making one senior appearance in the Europa Conference League. A loan spell at Swansea City followed, where he made 13 appearances without scoring or assisting, before he moved to FC Zürich in 2023 on another free transfer.
After 37 appearances for Zürich, scoring three goals and registering one assist, he moved to Botev Plovdiv in 2025 and scored seven goals with two assists in 15 games in the Bulgarian top flight.
Botev have now sold the 23-year-old to Levski for €300,000.

Levski confirmed the transfer in a statement, saying: “PFC Levski signed striker Armstrong Oko-Flex after the player activated the mechanism provided for in his contract for early termination of his competitive rights for the sum of 300,000 euros, and the club completed all administrative procedures according to the current rules.
“The football player successfully passed medical examinations and signed a contract with the club until the end of 2028.
“The transfer was carried out in conditions of high competition, including the presence of more advantageous financial offers, according to public statements by PFC Botev (Plovdiv). In this context, the administrative and sports-technical team of Levski demonstrated a high level of professionalism, organization and discretion, finalizing the deal in an official manner and within a short time.
“Armstrong Oko-Flex was born on March 2, 2002 in Dublin (Republic of Ireland). He began his football career at Arsenal’s academy, and in the summer of 2018 he moved to Celtic. He recorded 2 matches and 1 goal for the Scottish club’s second team, and 2 appearances for the representative team, becoming the champion of Scotland.
“In early 2021, he moved to West Ham, where he played 35 games and scored 14 goals for the under-21 team, and also had 1 game for the first team. In the summer of 2022, he played on loan at Swansea, for which he recorded 13 games. A year later, he was transferred to FC Zurich, where he recorded 37 games and scored 3 goals.
