Morecambe FC want to extend the loan of Arsenal youth defender Maldini Kacurri, having been impressed with the player’s performances so far.

Arsenal 20-year-old centre-back Maldini Kacurri joined Morecambe on a short-term loan in September, signing a deal lasting until January 2026.
Three months later, we’re now approaching the end of that initial term, and the non-league club are looking to prolong it.
That’s according to Simon Collings of The S*n, who reports that Morecambe want to keep hold of Kacurri by extending his loan spell, presumably until the end of the season.

Collings adds that some potential bad news for Morecambe is that Kacurri’s performances may have attracted interest from clubs higher up the English football pyramid.
If the young defender gets the opportunity to play regularly in a higher level, perhaps he’d prefer that to staying where he is.
But the move to Morecambe has been a great one for Kacurri so far, giving him consistent starts in the senior game. The Albania international has started all 15 National League matches he’s been available for.

It’s no surprise that Morecambe would be keen to keep Kacurri. In addition to starting him whenever they’ve been able to, they’ve also handed him two consecutive Player of the Month awards, for October and November.
It’s up to Arsenal and Kacurri to decide the best next step for the youngster now.
