Arsenal loanee Ismeal Kabia has seen his most-recent goal nominated for the FA Cup’s Goal of the Round award.

Following the conclusion of the FA Cup’s second round fixtures, the competition organisers have confirmed the nominees for their Goal of the Round award.
Arsenal’s Ismeal Kabia features on a shortlist of four, having scored for Shrewsbury Town in their win away to Sutton United.
The other three nominees are Aaron Drinan of Swindon Town, Ethan Ennis of Fleetwood Town, and James Edmondson of Macclesfield Town. You can vote for your favourite here.

The context of Kabia’s strike should give it an edge over the alternatives, with the Arsenal youth winger curling in a 91st-minute equaliser to send the game to extra time.
Drinan’s goal was Swindon’s third in a 4-0 win, Ennis’ was a deflected effort in the 83rd minute, and Edmondson’s was the second goal in a 3-1 win, so Kabia’s clean strike at the vital moment to turn the tie should be in with a shot at winning the award.

Fortunately, Kabia didn’t end up being drawn against Arsenal in the next round, so he’ll be free to give his all against a different Premier League opponent in Wolves in January.
