Bournemouth want to sign Arsenal player in January

Arsenal’s upcoming opponents Bournemouth are interested in signing Ethan Nwaneri on loan in January, according to a report.

Isaan Khan reports for the Daily Mail that AFC Bournemouth are one of multiple Premier League clubs to have registered an interest in a January loan for Ethan Nwaneri ahead of the winter window.

For Arsenal’s part, the Gunners are reportedly aware that Nwaneri is keen for minutes, having struggled to make regular appearances recently.

The midfielder was out of the squad completely for Arsenal’s match against Aston Villa on Tuesday, though he did still travel as the extra man.

Khan’s report adds that whilst no permanent exits are expected from Arsenal in January, Nwaneri’s situation is worth monitoring for a potential loan. The player isn’t unhappy with the Gunners, but it makes sense that he’d want to feature more regularly in the second half of the campaign.

Nwaneri has featured 11 times for Arsenal this season, making just three starts and none in the Premier League.

The 18-year-old scored a vital opening goal for Arsenal in their League Cup win over Brighton in October, but he’s largely been consigned to a fringe role in 2025/26.

With Bournemouth seemingly set to lose Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City, they could perhaps do with some attacking reinforcements in the winter window.

For the time being, Nwaneri will be preparing for Arsenal’s game against the Cherries on Saturday.
