The Premier League have confirmed the nominees for their Manager of the Month award, with Mikel Arteta joining Aston Villa’s Unai Emery, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Brighton’s Fabian Hurzeler, Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca, and Fulham’s Marco Silva on a lengthy shortlist.

For context, only four managers were nominated in September and October, so the Premier League have added an extra two names this time around.

You can now vote here, and voting will remain open until 12:00 GMT on Monday, December 8th.

This is the third month in a row that Arteta has been nominated, having also made the shortlist in September and October.

Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner won the September award, and Ruben Amorim won the October award, so Arteta his still waiting for his first win despite being nominated in three of four months.

Arsenal sit top of the Premier League table by five points at the time of writing, but the Gunners’ results evidently haven’t lined up nicely enough in any particular month for the voters.

It might be tough to change that this time around, given Arsenal won two and drew two Premier League fixtures in November. The Gunners beat Burnley and thrashed Tottenham Hotspur, but only took one point each from games away to Sunderland and Chelsea.

That’s certainly not a bad month, but it happens to be the worst of the three for which Arteta has been nominated. If he didn’t win the award the last two times, it’ll be even more difficult to do so on this occasion.
