Arsenal have now confirmed the signings of Edwin and Holger Quintero on pre-contract agreements, with the players to formally complete their transfers in 2027.

Arsenal have officially announced their agreement to sign twin brothers Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente del Valle, with the duo signing pre-contract agreements ahead of joining the club in August 2027 – when both turn 18.
The club add that they’ll be “collaborating closely with Independiente del Valle on the development and wellbeing of both Edwin and Holger until they arrive at Arsenal”.

Previous reports suggested the fee for the double signing could reach £9m, with the pair expected to sign five-year contracts in north London.
Given those contracts won’t start until August 2027, they should ultimately last until 2032.
James Olley broke the news for ESPN this week that Arsenal had agreed a deal in principle to sign the Ecuadorian twins from Independiente Del Valle, adding that the Gunners had fought off competition from a number of top European clubs to secure the transfers.
Olley added that the deal is viewed as something of a coup for Arsenal’s recruitment team, having tracked the duo for well over a year.
The pathway to first-team football evidenced by Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, and Max Dowman’s progression was a key factor in pulling it off.

Edwin Quintero is a left-footed right-winger, capped at u17 level for Ecuador, whilst Holger Quintero is a right-footed midfielder who also has Ecuador u17 experience. The pair made their u17 debuts in the same game against Costa Rica last August.
