Arsenal are keeping an eye on Jean-Matteo Bahoya, with Eintracht Frankfurt informed of the Gunners’ concrete interest in the player ahead of the summer.

Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg writes on social media that Arsenal are keeping a “close eye” on Jean-Matteo Bahoya ahead of next summer.
Eintracht Frankfurt have been informed of Arsenal’s interest, which is described as “concrete”.
But it seems the 20-year-old winger won’t come cheap, with Frankfurt looking for up to €70m (£61.2m). Bahoya’s contract runs until 2029, so the Bundesliga club presumably feel they have a strong bargaining position.

This isn’t the first time Arsenal have been linked with Bahoya, with Sam Cohen writing for GIVEMESPORT in early October that the Gunners had been watching the youngster.
At the time, Bahoya was believed to be just one name on a much longer list of talents observed by Arsenal scouts, with the club looking to integrate their data-driven identification models with live reports ahead of future transfer windows.
But it’s not impossible the detailed report on Bahoya generated by that assessment has led the Gunners to progress their interest over the last couple of months.

Bahoya has scored three goals and assisted one in 18 appearances for Frankfurt so far this season, with half of those appearances coming from the bench.
The winger has also scored once and assisted four goals in five games for the France u21s this year.
There’s certainly potential there, but it’s up to Arsenal whether the player is ready to step up and contribute more consistently in the senior game. At a price tag of over £60m, they’ll need to be pretty well convinced.
