Earlier this month, various reports suggested that Arsenal scouts had been in attendance at multiple BK Hacken games to watch Silas Andersen, a 21-year-old defensive midfielder at the Swedish club.

Responding to the links, the player initially insisted he doesn’t know how much truth there is to them.

“I don’t know,” Andersen said (via Sport Witness). “I’ll let my agent work on it. I don’t know much.”

But when pressed on a potential move to Arsenal, Andersen made it clear that he would be interested in the possibility if the Gunners really are after him.

“It’s a big club. I would be happy,” Andersen admitted. “There is a lot of interest. Now people have to make a move, but we’ll see.

“I have no idea [about a January move]. It’s something I need to talk to Martin [Ericsson, football director] and Erik [Friberg, sports director] about it.

“I’m aiming for the highest possible. That’s my goal. Yes. I feel like I’ve shown myself and what I can do. I think I’m ready, but we’ll see.”

Whilst he plays in Sweden, Andersen is Danish, and he’s represented his country up to u20 level. He has a contract with his current club lasting until the end of 2028, having only signed for them at the start of this year.

The Swedish league runs on a calendar-year basis, so Andersen’s contract expires in December of 2028 rather than June.

Andersen is initially a graduate of FC Copenhagen’s academy, but he also spent two years with Inter Milan between 2021 and 2023. He also played for Dutch club Utrecht from 2023 to 2025.

With Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, and Sweden already under his belt, perhaps he could soon be set to add another country to his growing list by joining Arsenal in England. But at this stage, the Gunners’ interest doesn’t seem to have progressed beyond scouting.
