The Premier League have accepted Arsenal’s request to play their Premier League game against Everton on December 20th at 8pm.

Sami Mokbel reported for the BBC on Tuesday that Arsenal had requested that their game against Everton on Sunday, December 21st at 14:00 GMT was moved to Saturday, December 20th at 20:00.
Arsenal have been forced to play Crystal Palace in the League Cup quarter-final on December 23rd to accommodate Palace’s schedule, despite every other quarter-final taking place on December 16th or 17th. As a result, the Gunners were due to play two matches in three days.
But with the news that the Premier League have accepted Arsenal’s request, the team now face a slightly more manageable two matches in four days.

Mokbel had added that December 20th was not the only date under consideration by the Premier League, but they eventually accepted Arsenal’s favoured option.
Crystal Palace had pushed for the same thing as Arsenal, moving their Premier League game to December 20th and their previous Europa Conference League game to December 17th.
The request to move the Conference League game was rejected by UEFA, but their Premier League game has been successfully moved to December 20th at 20:00 GMT along with Arsenal’s.

Though a win for the teams involved, the change is less positive for the fans, with many already having booked travel and accommodation for the Everton game when it was originally “confirmed” for the Sunday.
