England and the Republic of Ireland have learned their opponents for the first knockout round of the u17 World Cup, with three Arsenal players involved.

With the group stage of the u17 World Cup now at an end, England and the Republic of Ireland have both confirmed their progression to the knockout stages of the tournament.
Arsenal have two players in the England squad, with goalkeeper Jack Porter starting every game of the group stage, whilst late call-up Marli Salmon is yet to feature.
The Gunners also have an interest in the Ireland’s tournament thanks to Victor Ozhianvuna, with the club recently confirming that the Shamrock Rovers youngster will be joining Arsenal in January 2027.

Ozhianvuna appeared in all three of Ireland’s group stage matches as they earned seven points to finish in top spot. Meanwhile, England won two and lost one to progress as a runner-up to Venezuela.
Ireland are set to face Canada in the Round of 32 on November 14th at 15:15 GMT, whilst England will play South Korea on November 15th at 12:30 GMT.
The winner of Ireland’s match will face either Switzerland or Egypt in the Round of 16, whilst the winner of England’s match will play either Austria or Tunisia. The full bracket is available here (just click “view brackets”).

One thing to note is that England and Ireland are now on opposite sides of the draw. As a result, the trio of future Arsenal teammates can’t all meet in the competition until either the final or the third-place play-off. There’s a long way to go to reach that stage.
