Luiz Henrique has spoken openly about his long-held ambition to play for Arsenal, revealing that a move to England and the Premier League remains a personal dream as he continues his career with Zenit St Petersburg.

The 24-year-old Brazil international, who plays predominantly from the right and is known for his direct dribbling and pace, began his career at Fluminense after joining the club at the age of nine. He progressed through the academy, made his senior debut in 2020 and went on to play 120 senior matches in all competitions, scoring 14 goals (with 14 assists) across three seasons before moving to Europe.
Henrique joined Real Betis in 2022, where he featured regularly across domestic and European competitions but never fully established himself as a leading figure, finishing with just four goals in 64 appearances.
He returned to Brazil in January 2024 on a high-profile move to Botafogo as the most expensive signing in Brazilian football history, and enjoyed a breakout year that propelled him back into international contention.
In January 2025, he moved to Zenit on a three-and-a-half year contract with an option of a fourth, tieing him to the club until at least 2028.

Henrique has since established himself as a regular Brazil international. He made his senior debut on 6 September 2024 in a World Cup qualifier against Ecuador, starting in a 1-0 win. By November 2025 he had collected 11 caps and scored twice, with both goals coming in October 2024 qualifiers against Chile and Peru.
Speaking to Globo Esporte, Henrique said: “I’ll let life take me. I want to fulfil my contract here at Zenit, but I have dreams of playing in a team in England, playing in the Champions League.
“Since childhood, (the dream) has always been playing in England. There is a team there that I like very much, which is Arsenal. But, as I said, I want to fulfil my contract first.”
Now valued at around €25 million, Henrique has one goal and three assists from 17 appearances this season in Russia.
