Karim Adeyemi has signalled he would choose a move to north London over Old Trafford if he leaves Borussia Dortmund next summer, dealing Manchester United a major setback in their search for a new winger.

Karim Adeyemi has reportedly dealt Manchester United a setback to their summer plans after telling intermediaries that, if he leaves Borussia Dortmund, his preference is to join Arsenal rather than head to Old Trafford.
United have been tracking the 23-year-old for months and held discussions with his agent, Jorge Mendes, to explore whether a deal could be done.
Manager Ruben Amorim had pushed for the deal, but the club have accepted the situation is turning against them.
Dortmund have reportedly put a £75 million price on Adeyemi, which is higher than United were willing to go for a player who has four goals and five assists in 20 games this season.
The Sunday People report that the forward has “made it clear that IF he leaves Dortmund ahead of next season, his preferred destination is Arsenal”, leaving Amorim preparing to look elsewhere.

Adeyemi is under contract until 2027, but talks over a new deal have apparently stalled. Dortmund are open to a sale at the right price, and the uncertainty has put his future firmly into play for the summer window.
It is not yet known whether Arsenal intend to move, but Adeyemi’s position gives them a clear advantage should they decide to do so. Where he would fit at the club with Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke and, of course, Max Dowman, is also a question that would need to be addressed.
