Paris Saint-Germain and a club in Saudi Arabia made a push for Gabriel Magalhaes last summer, but Arsenal refused to entertain their offers.

Fabrizio Romano reports for the Here We Go Podcast that in the summer of 2024, Gabriel Magalhaes had two options to leave Arsenal. One was to go to Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain, and the other was a major offer from Saudi Arabia.
Arsenal’s response was to immediately inform the player that they considered him “untouchable”, and to continue working on tying him down to a new contract – which they ultimately succeeded at doing in June 2025.

The Gunners always considered Gabriel as a really important member of the squad, and internally they’ve long viewed him as underrated in the wider footballing world.
That only seems to have changed recently, with Gabriel’s defensive consistency and goals changing plenty of minds.
Romano concludes that Gabriel remains an untouchable player for Arsenal, which makes sense given he’s now under contract until 2029. The centre-back is reportedly very happy at the club, and Mikel Arteta is also happy to have him in his squad.

Gabriel has played 10 games for Arsenal this season, scoring one very important goal to earn the full three points away to Newcastle United. That goal and Arsenal’s four clean sheets in seven games are a large part of the reason the team is currently top.
