Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided injury updates on Gabriel Magalhaes and Piero Hincapie ahead of Saturday’s clash with West Ham United.

Arsenal appear to be steadily cutting down their injury list after a tough start to the season, with the likes of Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka back playing again.

Yet there was a new injury concern in midweek, with Gabriel Magalhaes coming off early during Wednesday’s clash with Olympiacos.

Mikel Arteta played down the severity of the injury at the time, and he’s now reiterated his confidence that the problem isn’t a major one.

“We weren’t too concerned about it,” Arteta said in his pre-West Ham United press conference on Friday. “We will have to wait and see after training and see how everybody is.”

The other injury doubt ahead of the weekend was regarding Piero Hincapie, with the summer signing playing just a few minutes of football for his new club so far.

Arteta unfortunately confirmed that the defender won’t be making his comeback against West Ham, but he shouldn’t be out for too much longer.

“We’ve been trying to do everything as fast as possible [to get him fit], but this game came too fast. Now we have an international break, so hopefully, after that, he will have a couple of sessions with the team and be ready to go.”

Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus all remain absent with longer-term issues, so it looks like those three and Hincapie will be the only players unavailable for the West Ham clash.
