Injuries hit Fulham before Arsenal clash

Arsenal have been handed a boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Fulham, with Rodrigo Muniz, Kenny Tete and Antonee Robinson ruled out and doubts lingering over the fitness of Raúl Jiménez.

Speaking at the start of October, Fulham manager Marco Silva confirmed that two players will miss the London derby. “Right now, I can assure you that Rodrigo (Muniz) is going to be out, and Kenny is going to be out, too,” Silva said.

“More than just this game, we believe even after the international break it’s going to be an issue for them to be ready for the next ones.”

Muniz is recovering from a thigh injury and Silva added, “Let’s see if we can have him back before the November international break.”

Tete continues to struggle with a knee problem.

Robinson is also being assessed after a minor knee injury sustained on international duty but has also been ruled out of the Arsenal game.

This week, Silva said: “Antonee has a minor problem with his leg, a bit of pain. We’re managing it as best we can, but he still can’t participate in training. And he’s certainly out of the game. I hope it’s not serious and that he can return to his club to train and compete normally.”

Jiménez, meanwhile, is nursing a groin issue and remains a major doubt.

It leaves Fulham short of attacking options as they face an Arsenal side sitting top of the Premier League and in strong form after four straight wins in all competitions. The Gunners have dominated this fixture historically, winning nine of the last 14 league meetings, while Fulham’s only victory in that time came in December 2023.

Despite that record, Fulham will take confidence from their recent results at Craven Cottage, where they have won their last two league matches. However, they have not managed three consecutive home league victories since…December 2023.

Arsenal, unbeaten in 18 of their last 19 London derbies, are seeking to get back to winning at Craven Cottage after drawing and losing on their last two visits. Before that, they had won five in a row at Fulham, stretching back to 2012.

While Mikel Arteta must still contend with the absences of Martin Ødegaard, Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Jesus, the news from the Fulham camp gives the league leaders a clear advantage going into what could be a pivotal fixture in maintaining their early-season momentum.
