Andre Harriman-Annous has shared his delight at making his Arsenal first-team debut in the 2-0 League Cup win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday.

17-year-old striker Andre Harriman-Annous made his Arsenal debut on Wednesday, starting against Brighton and Hove Albion in the League Cup fourth round.
For a player who had never played a competitive minute of first-team football, it was a tough task to go straight into the starting lineup against Premier League opposition. But the forward acquitted himself well in the 2-0 victory.
The second goal only really came about thanks to Harriman-Annous, who ran in behind to latch onto a Jurrien Timber through ball. Though the youth striker’s shot was saved, it fell to Bukayo Saka to score.

After the game, Harriman-Annous logged on to social media to share his thoughts on his debut display.
“What a night!” Harriman-Annous wrote. “A dream come true to start for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and a proud moment for me and my family to have made my competitive debut for this amazing club.
“Thanks to GOD for the opportunity that he has given me. Forever grateful for this opportunity and happy to be in the next round.”

Arsenal are set to face Crystal Palace next, and it remains to be seen whether the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz will be ready to feature at that stage.
If so, Harriman-Annous might struggle to get another game, but if they’re both still out, Mikel Arteta is likely to want to rest Viktor Gyokeres again.
At 17, there’s no real rush to get Harriman-Annous involved in the starting lineup on a regular basis just that. It’s a big milestone for the youngster to have already made his first Arsenal start, and if he keeps developing in the right way there should be more to come in the future.
