It will be Brazil’s first game of a mini European tour before facing Tunisia in Lille three days later and their 10th appearance at Arsenal’s ground.

Their last visit came in 2018, when Neymar scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Uruguay.

Senegal, who recently qualified for their third consecutive World Cup, have never lost to Brazil, with one win and one draw from their previous meetings. Their most recent encounter came in 2023 in Lisbon, when Sadio Mané scored twice in a 4-2 victory.

For Gabriel Martinelli, the occasion will be particularly meaningful. “For me, this match is extra special,” he said.” “I’ve been with Arsenal for over six years now and have many beautiful memories of playing at Emirates Stadium. Now, with the Brazil team coming back and playing here, it will be a very special occasion.”

Arsenal’s Chief Executive Richard Garlick said: “Everyone at Arsenal Football Club is once again delighted and honoured to be hosting the Brazil national team for an international match, this time against one of the African giants.

“Brazil versus Senegal will provide football supporters with an occasion to see some of the world’s most talented men’s players on display here at Emirates Stadium. The match will also hopefully give our supporters the opportunity to cheer on Gabi Martinelli and Gabi Magalhaes in action in their national team colours. We look forward to welcoming everyone in November.”

Senegal coach Pape Thiaw said his side are eager for the challenge. “It doesn’t get much bigger than playing Brazil at Emirates Stadium, and I know the game will be a real spectacle and we encourage Arsenal supporters and all lovers of football to come and watch. We are looking forward to testing ourselves against one of the world’s leading football nations as we start our preparations for next year’s World Cup.”
