Max Dowman became the youngster player to score for the England u19s on Tuesday, netting in a 7-0 win over Wales.

Arsenal youngster Max Dowman made his fifth appearance and his third start for the England u19s on Tuesday, having debuted for the team over the September international break.
Though Dowman did win a penalty in an impressive display against Spain over that break, he didn’t get on the scoresheet, so this week’s match against Wales offered an opportunity for the 15-year-old to get off the mark.
He did just that in the second half of the contest, netting his first England u19 goal for 4-0.

In doing so, Dowman became the youngest-ever goalscorer for the England u19 side, beating Ryan Sessegnon’s record from 2016. The teenager then came off in the 67th minute, with England still cruising at 4-0.
Fellow Arsenal youngster Khari Ranson also featured in the match, coming on in goal for the second half, and he kept a clean sheet as the team ultimately won 7-0.
The appearance was Ranson’s debut for the England u19s, so he’ll be pleased to have made a positive start.

Dowman and Ranson will now return to Arsenal, with the former likely to link back up with the Gunners’ senior side. With Martin Ødegaard and Noni Madueke out injured, there should be space in the squad for a player of Dowman’s ability.
As for Ranson, the goalkeeper has been pushing for minutes in the u21 team this season, starting and keeping a clean sheet against Derby County in the Premier League 2 late last month.
The Arsenal u21s are next in action away to Chelsea on Saturday, October 25th at 14:00 BST.
