Atletico Madrid will only be missing one player from their senior squad against Arsenal on Tuesday, with Nico Gonzalez shaking off a concussion scare to make the trip.

Atletico Madrid had a scare during their weekend fixture against CA Osasuna, with Nico Gonzalez forced to withdraw in the 43rd minute of the match with a head injury.

Gonzalez had appeared in every Atletico game since joining on loan from Juventus in September, but there was a real risk that concussion protocols would require him to miss Tuesday’s match away to Arsenal.

Yet Marca Catalunya report that medical tests on Sunday confirmed no concussion, with the outlet adding that the player was keen to carry on during Saturday’s game. It was only under medical advice that he was convinced to withdraw.

Atletico have now confirmed that Gonzalez is in their squad to face Arsenal, releasing the full squad list on Monday morning. The only senior player absent is midfielder Johnny Cardoso, who started the first three games of the season but has missed the last seven with an ankle injury.

There will be plenty of familiar names on the squad list to followers of the Premier League, with former Chelsea player Conor Gallagher, ex-Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez, and former Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth all involved.

Arsenal fans will also be well aware of the likes of Jan Oblak, Koke, Antoine Griezmann, and Jose Gimenez from the last match between the two teams in 2018.

With the exception of Cardoso, Diego Simeone will have a full-strength squad to call upon for his starting lineup in London, and there shouldn’t be any enforced changes from their recent matches.

Atletico’s starting lineup vs Osasuna was as follows: Oblak, Le Normand, Hancko, Gimenez, Llorente, Koke, Baena, Barrios, Gonzalez, Griezmann, Alvarez
