Martin Zubimendi has been nominated for the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month award for September, with the voting now open.

The PFA have announced that Martin Zubimendi is up for their Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month award for September, joining five other nominees in the running.
Sunderland’s Omar Alderete, Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Newcastle United’s Nick Pope, and AFC Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo are the other five players on the shortlist, and you can cast your vote here.

This isn’t the first Player of the Month nomination Zubimendi has received for his performances in September, as he was also put up for the Premier League’s award. Though the public voting for that award has already closed.
Zubimendi’s brace against Nottingham Forest was obviously the primary reason for his nominations, with a stunning volley and an unexpected headed goal propelling Arsenal to victory that day.
But the midfielder also performed well in tough matches against Manchester City and Newcastle United, with Arsenal drawing the former clash and winning the latter.

Zubimendi’s two goals for the month could only be beaten by Haaland, who is surely one of the Player of the Month favourites. With five goals and one assist, Haaland showed some of his best form in September.
