Arsenal’s Jurrien Timber has received a nomination for the Premier League’s October Player of the Month award, with voting now open.

The Premier League have confirmed the nominees for their October Player of the Month award, with Arsenal right-back Jurrien Timber on the eight-player shortlist.
Timber joins Aston Villa’s Matty Cash, Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, AFC Bournemouth’s Junior Kroupi, Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo, Sunderland’s Nordi Mukiele, and Brentford’s Igor Thiago in the running.
The voting is now open here, with a deadline of 12:00 GMT on Monday, November 3rd to submit your vote. The fan vote will be combined with the decision of a panel of football experts to determine the winner.

Unlike many of the others, who have been nominated for their goal contributions, Timber didn’t provide any goals or assists in October. The closest the right-back came was winning a penalty against West Ham United, converted by Bukayo Saka.
Yet it’s still a very deserved nomination, not least because Arsenal didn’t concede a single goal in October, with Timber playing the full 90 minutes in all three Premier League fixtures for Mikel Arteta’s team.
The Premier League’s website post highlights Timber’s “physical strength and technical precision” making him “a nightmare for opposition wingers”.

Timber has certainly been fantastic for Arsenal lately, with his form carrying across competitions as his excellent run led to the Gunners’ second goal in the League Cup win over Brighton on Wednesday. And, of course, the team secured another clean sheet.
The 24-year-old’s early injury setback after joining Arsenal seems like a distant memory now. Timber has bounced back to full fitness, and he’s performing better than ever right now.
