Bukayo Saka’s new contract is Arsenal’s top priority, and the club feels it’s a matter of ‘when’ he signs rather than ‘if’.

Isaan Khan reports for the Daily Mail that Bukayo Saka’s contract extension is currently the most pressing priority for sporting director Andrea Berta, with the situation nearing a conclusion after a complex process.
Talks have been taking place since the start of the year, with a new contract set to make Saka the club’s top earner.
Arsenal are keen to get the deal sorted as soon as possible, and they have absolute confidence that he will sign new terms. It’s just a matter of when that happens.

In his recent piece on David Raya’s new deal, Sami Mokbel reported for the BBC that Arsenal are indeed hopeful that Saka will renew his contract, with discussions now at an advanced stage.
So all the noises coming out of the club at the moment are that things are going well, and Mikel Arteta recently stressed that he wants to see Saka extend.
“I would love that,” Arteta said. “From everything that I know, he is a player that is extremely happy, and proud to have the role that he has at the football club.
“Things will develop in a natural way, like they always do, and everyone knows how important Bukayo is for us. Hopefully, we can do it.”

For the time being, Saka is away with England, winning the Player of the Match award after scoring against Wales on Thursday night. The winger has also scored in his last two Arsenal appearances, and he’ll be looking to score for a fourth game in a row against Latvia on Tuesday.
