Piero Hincapie’s Arsenal absence appears set to continue, with the former Bayer Leverkusen defender not involved in training on Tuesday.

Arsenal summer signing Piero Hincapie wasn’t involved in the team’s training session on Tuesday, with the Gunners preparing to face Olympiacos in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Presumably, that means Hincapie won’t be available for Wednesday’s game, joining Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Noni Madueke in missing out.
Jesus, Havertz, and Madueke won’t be back until November at the earliest, so there’s certainly no chance they’ll be involved in midweek.

In more positive news, both Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri were involved in the training session. Dowman continues to be involved in first-team training and matchday squads as he makes the step up from the academy this season, whilst Nwaneri’s inclusion allays concerns that he’s picked up an injury.
Nwaneri had been involved in every Arsenal squad until Sunday, but he wasn’t even on the bench away to Newcastle United.
Mikel Arteta has a tough job finding the squad space for all of his players at the moment, though it’s easier in the Champions League with the extra spots on the bench in UEFA competition.

Nwaneri had played the full 90 minutes for Arsenal against Port Vale earlier in the week, so any suggestions that he’s out of favour under Arteta are likely wide of the mark.
But if he’s not injured, then his non-involvement against Newcastle does make it look like he’s down the pecking order at the moment.
