Beth Mead is set to remain with Arsenal despite a significant offer from the London City Lionesses, according to a report.

Sky Sports News report that they understand Beth Mead won’t be leaving Arsenal on transfer deadline day, despite a significant offer from the London City Lionesses earlier in the window.
Mead is reportedly considered a really important part of Renee Slegers’ squad, so she’ll be remaining at Arsenal.

Following their promotion to the WSL, the London City Lionesses have been keen to secure their spot in the English top flight, making a large number of signings this summer. That includes a couple of additions from Arsenal, like Teyah Goldie and Freya Godfrey.
Mead would have been another good addition for the side, as a player with significant experience for club and country. Yet a sale wouldn’t have made much sense for Arsenal.
The Gunners have struggled with a lack of options out wide in previous seasons, and letting Mead leave would likely have ensured Slegers faced similar difficulties this season.

30-year-old Mead is set to continue her eight-and-a-half-year association with Arsenal, and she’ll currently be preparing for Saturday’s game against the London City Lionesses.
