Leandro Trossard is drawing interest from AS Roma and initial discussions have taken place with Andrea Berta, according to a report.

Orazio Accomando reports for Italian outlet Sport Mediaset that with AS Roma desperately looking for an attacking reinforcement on deadline day, Leandro Trossard is among their options.
Roma have multiple alternatives, including Chelsea’s Tyrique George and Bologna’s Benjamin Dominguez. But Trossard is also emerging in the race in recent hours, with Accomando reporting that initial discussions have already taken place with Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta.
Writing on Twitter on Sunday night, Accomando had suggested a Roma move for Trossard remained complicated. But the club are hoping to sign at least one winger, and the Arsenal player is clearly on their shortlist.

The news that Arsenal might even consider Trossard’s sale may come as a surprise to some, as the player only recently signed a new contract with the Gunners.
But the timing of that deal was somewhat mandated. Arsenal wanted to increase Trossard’s pay without increasing the length of his contract, a move that is only possible before the season starts – per Premier League regulations.
So Arsenal had to refresh Trossard’s contract a couple of weeks before the transfer window deadline, and thus before they knew whether or not a late sale would be possible.

A new contract usually means a player is guaranteed to stick around for at least the remainder of the current transfer window, but this could turn out to be the exception.
On the other hand, in the wake of Kai Havertz’s injury, Gabriel Jesus’ continuing absence, and now Bukayo Saka’s spell on the sidelines, it would have to be a good offer for Arsenal to let another forward leave.
