Arsenal have made a significant improved contract offer to William Saliba, with the Gunners pushing for an extension before 2026.

Fabrizio Romano reports for his YouTube channel that amid constant speculation about a future move to Real Madrid, Arsenal have recently improved their contract offer to William Saliba.
Romano clarifies that the proposal wasn’t in the last few days, but rather the last few weeks. Still, it’s a significant offer and Arsenal are hoping to convince Saliba he’s a crucial part of a big project.
The journalists adds that Arsenal are trying their best to get Saliba’s contract sorted as soon as possible, hoping not to enter 2026 without a resolution.

Yet Romano also reports that Real Madrid definitely have Saliba on their shortlist, considering him the Jude Bellingham of defenders. They think Saliba is a special player for the present and the future, and they’ll continue to watch his situation.
For the time being, there hasn’t been much to see of Saliba on the pitch, with the centre-back struggling with injury and Cristhian Mosquera filling in excellently.
But Saliba is back in training, he was back on the bench against Athletic Club, and he’ll probably hope to return to the starting lineup for the next game. Particularly given that next game is against Manchester City.

We’ll have to wait a bit longer for any concrete updates on which way Saliba’s contract negotiations with Arsenal will go, but it certainly seems as if sporting director Andrea Berta is pushing for a resolution.
