Arsenal’s Alexei Rojas made an appearance for the Colombia u20s in a friendly against Mexico on Tuesday night, ahead of the u20 World Cup kicking off this month.

Arsenal youth goalkeeper Alexei Rojas is with the Colombia u20s this month ahead of the u20 World Cup, which kicks off on September 27th.
Colombia have been playing friendly matches in the build-up to the tournament, and Rojas was given a chance to start in a friendly against Mexico on Tuesday.
The Colombia u20s ended up winning the match 3-2, scoring once in the first half and twice in the second, though they did face a late scare after Mexico pulled back those two goals.

There wasn’t much blame attached to Rojas though, particularly as Mexico’s second goal came from the penalty spot. The hope will be that the goalkeeper has done enough to earn himself chances in the World Cup over the coming weeks.
“Always an honour to wear this jersey and preparing for what’s ahead,” Rojas wrote on Instagram. “Another important win, getting closer to the World Cup dream.”

Colombia kick things off at the World Cup with a match against Saudi Arabia on September 29th, followed by a match against Norway on October 2nd, before concluding the group stage against Nigeria on October 5th.
Whether Rojas remains at the tournament after that will depend on Colombia’s performances, with the knockout stages beginning on October 7th and ending on October 19th.
Rojas is yet to appear for the Arsenal academy this season, though he has taken part in first-team training on multiple occasions.
