Arsenal could be set to miss out on summer target Rodrygo to Manchester City, with the club considering a move as three of their current wingers could be on the way out.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City are considering a move for Rodrygo, viewing him as a dream summer target.
Pep Guardiola is reportedly a big fan, and Real Madrid are willing to let the winger leaves if he wants to, though their asking price is around €100m (£86.6m).

There had been significant links between Rodrygo and City earlier this year, along with Arsenal, but the links went quiet as the summer progressed.
The reason they’ve now resurfaced is seemingly as City are set to sell a few of their current wide options. Jack Grealish is on the verge of a loan move to Everton, James McAtee is closing in on a move to Nottingham Forest, and Tottenham Hotspur are in talks over Savio.
If all three go, City would then have the funds and the incentive to go big for Rodrygo, perhaps even getting close to that €100m asking price.

Reports over the last month or so have strongly suggested that both Real Madrid and head coach Xabi Alonso are open to selling Rodrygo, but there were a couple of key obstacles to his departure.
Firstly, there’s never really been a strong sense that Rodrygo actually wants to leave. The winger seems keen to fight for his place in Madrid.
Secondly, there were no clear bidders. PSG have denied reports of interest, Liverpool are focusing on Alexander Isak, Rodrygo understandably has no desire to join Spurs, and Arsenal needed to sell first.
With City rejoining the race, Real Madrid finally have a potential buyer. If Guardiola can convince the player, a deal suddenly looks very feasible.
