2 Arsenal injury doubts spotted with squad pre-Liverpool

Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard, and new signing Eberechi Eze were all among the Arsenal players travelling to Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s game.

With Arsenal due to face Liverpool on Sunday, there have been a few question marks hanging over certain players in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Martin Odegaard was an injury doubt after his early withdrawal last weekend, and Arteta suggested Leandro Trossard was also an injury doubt.

Then there was the question of whether Eberechi Eze would immediately join up with his new teammates, and whether 15-year-old Max Dowman would remain involved given Eze’s arrival.

Those questions were all seemingly answered on Saturday night, as fan footage showed Odegaard, Trossard, Eze, and Dowman all boarding the team bus ahead of the Liverpool clash.

It’s worth mentioning that Arteta has seemingly played mind games in these situations in the past, with Bukayo Saka notably joining the pre-match walk to the Emirates Stadium before a game against Manchester City even though he was injured and unavailable to feature.

But travelling all the way to Liverpool for a mind game would be another level, so the expectation is that all of the above players will be available for selection.

There was no sign of Christian Norgaard or Ben White in the footage, so unless they snuck in undetected it looks like they both remain absent through injury.

The fact they’ve both been left out of their respective international squads is further evidence supporting their expected absences.

Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Saka are all certainly missing out, with all three weeks away from returns at the very least. So Arteta looks likely to be without five players for Sunday’s match.
