Jakub Kiwior is open to a summer transfer that would allow him to be a regular starter, but Arsenal aren’t hurrying to sell the defender.

James McNicholas reports for The Athletic that Jakub Kiwior is open to leaving Arsenal this summer, for a club where he can be a regular starter.
But McNicholas adds that Arsenal aren’t in a rush to sell, and none of the clubs with an interest in Kiwior have yet met the player’s asking price.

Reports from Italy this week linked AC Milan with a move for Kiwior to replace Malick Thiaw, with Newcastle United closing in on a deal for the Milan defender.
Yet even those reports suggested Milan were unlikely to match Arsenal’s reported €35m asking price.
Polish journalist Tomasz Wlodarczyk of Meczyki.pl had broken the news this week that Arsenal would only consider offers for Kiwior above €35m (£30.3m).
Porto placed a €27m bid comprised of a €7m loan fee and a €20m purchase obligation, but the Gunners turned it down.

Kiwior has played a regular role in pre-season for Arsenal, but it’s worth noting that he didn’t feature in the Gunners’ final friendly against Athletic Club on Saturday.
Gabriel Magalhaes started the match, and when he eventually had to come off he was replaced by Cristhian Mosquera.
If Kiwior was in line to start Arsenal’s opening Premier League game against Manchester United, you would’ve thought he would’ve played some of the Athletic Club clash. He continues to look like a backup option, which may drive his seemingly growing desire to leave.
