Multiple clubs in for Arsenal 25yo after bid rejected

Jakub Kiwior’s future remains open with multiple clubs keen on signing him and one bid already rejected, according to a report.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Jakub Kiwior’s situation isn’t resolved ahead of the transfer deadline next month.

Though Mikel Arteta would prefer to keep Kiwior, there are several clubs keen on signing him this summer, and the Gunners already rejected a proposal from Portugal in July.

Romano adds that the decision on what’s next is up to the player, with his desire for regular minutes a possible factor.

Kiwior’s situation at Arsenal is certainly somewhat tricky. In the short term, the Gunners have injuries to the likes of Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes, meaning the Poland international is effectively first choice.

But those two absentees are expected to return to action within the fortnight, so that doesn’t provide any guarantees for Kiwior going forward. That might be a sticking point for him in a World Cup year.

There’s been some suggestion Arsenal could be interested in signing Jeremy Jacquet if Kiwior leaves, allowing the defender to play more minutes elsewhere whilst also securing cover for Gabriel and Calafiori.

Yet Rennes aren’t keen to sell, and Jacquet has extended his contract. So that deal might have to wait until 2026.

With Arteta keen to keep Kiwior and no obvious replacement if he goes, the Gunners are likely to hold out for a significant transfer fee this summer. As it stands, it’s not clear anyone is willing to make such an offer.
