Jeremy Jacquet turned down an approach from Arsenal at the start of the transfer window, according to a report from France.

Santi Aouna reports for Foot Mercato that Arsenal were targeting a move for Jeremy Jacquet at the start of the summer transfer window, but the player opted instead to sign a contract extension with Rennes to 2029.
Fabrizio Romano had reported that Arsenal had already made an approach for Jacquet as a potential summer signing, in case of a departure for Oleksandr Zinchenko or Jakub Kiwior.
But it’s not clear whether Romano is referring to that move at the start of the summer or another more recent attempt at the signing.

Either way, with Jacquet’s new contract in place, his club are in a strong negotiating position. Romano adds that Rennes consider the centre-back ‘not for sale’ this summer.
The Gunners reportedly remain keen, and if they can’t sign the player now, they’ll be interested again in 2026.
There are just evidently a lot of pieces that need to fall into place before a move would be possible this month, and it doesn’t seem like the player or his club are particularly keen right now.

20-year-old Jacquet has already made 18 appearances in Ligue 1 for Clermont Foot and Rennes.
After coming through the academy system at Rennes, the defender spent a year on loan with Clermont Foot from January 2024 to January 2025. After impressing in his time away, he then broke into the starting lineup with his parent club upon his return before signing his new contract.
Internationally, Jacquet has played for France up to u21 level, making his debut for the u21 side in March.
