Fulham are back in talks with Arsenal over a move for Reiss Nelson before the approaching summer transfer deadline, according to a report.

Miguel Delaney reports that Fulham and Arsenal are back in talks over a potential loan move for winger Reiss Nelson. There was no sign of the winger ahead of Arsenal’s game against Leeds United, suggesting he’s set to be excluded for the second week running.
Fulham have seemingly been interested in Nelson all summer, but their recent pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin has seen negotiations for the Arsenal player come to a standstill.
Marco Silva’s side have made two bids for Kevin, both of which have proved unsuccessful. Sam Tabuteau reports for Standard Sport that the club are weighing up another club-record offer, but perhaps they’re also considering returning to the table for Nelson as the Kevin deal drags on.

Fulham’s latest bid for Kevin was worth €37m (£32.1m) plus add-ons, with Shakhtar wanting €50m (£43.4m). If the two clubs can’t reach an agreement, it’s clear Fulham will have money to burn in the remainder of the market.
That’s not exactly surprising, given the club’s biggest summer transfer so far was the £500,000 signing of 34-year-old backup goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte from Ligue 2 club Montpellier.
For a Premier League side to reach August 23rd without making a single signing worth more than £1m is unusual, and suggests the club have plenty of money in the bank.

Yet whether Fulham are willing to throw some of that money at Arsenal for Nelson is another matter.
Fulham know Nelson’s good qualities, having had him on loan last season, but by the same token they also know a lot about his injury struggles. Another loan has always appeared to be the most likely outcome this summer, and talks are back on to make it happen.
