Crystal Palace are close to agreeing a compensation package with Arsenal to sign academy graduate Dan Casey, according to a report.

Bobby Manzi reports for the News Shopper that Crystal Palace are close to agreeing a compensation package with Arsenal to sign Dan Casey, with the player so far refusing to sign a contract extension offer from the Gunners.
Back in early June, the Premier League confirmed that five of Arsenal’s academy players with expiring contracts were in negotiations over possible extensions.
Four of them signed new deals, and the only exception was Casey. He remains out of contract at the time of writing.

Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Arsenal were still in ongoing talks with Casey, but both Crystal Palace and Norwich City had made contact with the Gunners over a potential transfer. It seems Palace have now taken the lead in the race.
Given Casey’s age (17) and the offer on the table from Arsenal, Palace would need to agree a compensation package with the Gunners to sign him. If they can’t do so, a fee will be set by a tribunal.

Casey scored 21 goals for the Arsenal u18s in 2024/25, netting 18 times in 21 games in the u18 Premier League, twice in three games in the FA Youth Cup, and once in two u18 Premier League Cup appearances.
The teenager also made the step up to the u19s and the u21s on eight occasions, though he was less impactful in those limited minutes, with no goals or assists above u18 football so far.
