Cristhian Mosquera held his Arsenal medical on Wednesday, and the Gunners hope to make his transfer official before the weekend, according to a report.

Pascu Calabuig reports for Spanish outlet Super Deporte that Cristhian Mosquera underwent his Arsenal medical on Wednesday, and the Gunners now plan to make the move official before the weekend.
That timing would make sense, with Arsenal jetting off to Singapore for their Asia tour on Saturday.
If the club want Mosquera involved in the pre-season trip and don’t want his announcement spoiled by pictures of him arriving at the airport, they’ll need to officially confirm the deal before then.

Previous reports have suggested Arsenal will pay an initial fee of £13m for Mosquera, plus add-ons of around £3.5m. The player has agreed personal terms, so the remaining details are effectively just formalities.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta reportedly also tried to sign Mosquera last summer with Atletico Madrid, with Valencia asking for £26m at the time.
That price has come down due to Mosquera entering the final year of his contract, and the Gunners showing a willingness to wait until next summer to acquire him for free if necessary. Valencia ultimately opted to cash in while they still could.

Alex Crook reported for talkSPORT this week that Bournemouth were also interested in Mosquera, and Fabrizio Romano reports that the player turned down a significant bid from Serie A – believed to be Cesc Fabregas’ Como 1907.
With Mosquera rejecting offers from Bournemouth, Como, and his current club Valencia, Arsenal had a strong negotiating position, helping them to get the deal done.
