Arsenal are not looking to sell Gabriel Martinelli at this stage, and the player won’t consider a potentially lucrative move for Saudi Arabia, according to a report.
James Benge reports for CBS Sports that Arsenal are not looking to sell Gabriel Martinelli. Benge adds that though every player at the club has their price, there’s no internal pressure to sell Martinelli to fund other business.
The report goes on to highlight that Bayern Munich and Saudi Arabian clubs are both interested in Martinelli, with Al-Nassr holding internal discussions over the winger.
But Al-Nassr aren’t currently preparing a bid, and sources close to Martinelli suggest he wouldn’t be prepared to consider a Saudi Pro League move at this stage.
James McNicholas reported a similar line for The Athletic last week, suggesting there haven’t been any significant developments on Martinelli’s future.
McNicholas claimed Andrea Berta has informed the winger that Arsenal want him to stay, and he’s happy at the club.
But again, the journalist clarified that if an attractive buyer comes in at an appropriate price, a summer departure isn’t impossible. It’s just not likely right now.
With no firm bids on the horizon and Arsenal not actively marketing Martinelli, any potential move is pure speculation and a long way off.
It will be encouraging for the Brazilian to know he has interest from Bayern Munich and other clubs, but it doesn’t look like he’s set to leave north London just yet.
