Flamengo want to sign Gabriel Jesus on a loan with an obligation to buy, according to reports from Brazil.

Brazilian reporter Jorge Nicola tells his YouTube channel that Flamengo want to sign Gabriel Jesus on loan with an obligation to buy.
Flamengo and Arsenal have reportedly already held one round of talks, and the club feel they have an edge of Jesus’ former club Palmeiras because their Brazilian Serie A rivals don’t currently need a centre-forward.
Nicola adds that it won’t be an easy deal, with Arsenal valuing Jesus at around €28m (£24.5m), but Flamengo are certainly keen.

The reporter claims the source of his information on Flamengo’s interest in Jesus is also the same as the person who informed him about the club signing Jorginho and Danilo.
Nicola has had scoops on Arsenal transfers involving Brazilian players before, notably breaking the news of Arsenal’s move for Marquinhos and Arsenal’s talks to sign Gabriel Jesus himself.
So it’s worth listening to his update, even if it seems like an agreement is still a way off. There’s little certainty on how close Flamengo would be willing to get to Arsenal’s asking price.

Jesus is currently working on making a full recovery from his ACL injury, but football insider HandofArsenal reported this week that Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta was exploring a potential transfer for the striker.
That report added that clubs in Brazil had already enquired, as have some European clubs. Since then, multiple Brazilian outlets have named Flamengo as being in the mix, so it seems there’s something to the story.
For Jesus, the move would give him a platform to play regularly upon his return from injury, with consistent minutes viewed as vital to get on Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti’s radar ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
