Data suggests Arsenal will fall short again in the Premier League

Data analysis from a leading United Kingdom based sports betting company has predicted that Arsenal will suffer more heartbreak in the Premier League this season.

After finishing runners-up in each of the previous three campaigns, the Gunners are eager to set the record straight by winning the title this time around.

However, Spreadex Sports have forecast that Mikel Arteta’s side will once again fall short in their quest to end their lengthy title drought.

Their annual Premier League Points Spread Predictions for the 2025/26 season predicts that Arsenal will collect 77-79 points, just shy of Liverpool’s 77.5 – 79.5 points forecast.

Manchester City are rated in exactly the same points bracket as the Gunners, setting up what promises to be a truly epic battle for the title this term.

While Spreadex’s data-based analysis paints a worrying picture for Arsenal, there are plenty of reasons why the fans should be optimistic ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Liverpool deserved their title success last season, but you would be hard pushed to argue that they were impressive on their way to claiming top spot.

Their squad is undergoing a major overhaul this summer, and there is no guarantee the team will gel immediately. Defending the title also presents a different challenge.

Liverpool have been active during the summer transfer window, most notably with the big money acquisition of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

However, they have lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid and several other players have been tipped to exit the club this summer.

The Reds should mount a strong bid to defend the title, but the Gunners are undoubtedly capable of finishing ahead of them if everything clicks into place.

Their acquisition of midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad could ultimately prove to be the difference between success and failure this season.

Zubimendi will give Arsenal greater control in the middle of the park, and he should be the catalyst for Declan Rice to enjoy a more productive season.

Rice was signed from West Ham United in 2023 and was immediately touted as the player who would help the Gunners return to the pinnacle of the Premier League.

Although the 26-year-old has been one of the top performers since joining Arsenal, his efforts have yet to translate into the club winning major silverware.

Only the most one-eyed Arsenal fan would argue against claims that Rice goes missing in some big games, a point evidenced in last season’s Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

However, it would be unfair to suggest that there are no mitigating circumstances for some of Rice’s shortcomings since he signed for the club.

He has undoubtedly not been helped by often being deployed in a deeper role, while the absence of a truly top-class partner has been a major issue.

Zubimendi resolves that particular problem and he could forge a partnership with Rice that becomes the envy of the Premier League next season.

If they gel, Spreadex’s forecast of a points tally of 77 – 79 will likely look extremely conservative at the end of the campaign.

Man City may also have been underestimated given the significant investment they made in new players during the winter transfer window.

The club have also been active during the summer market and are strongly fancied to mount a serious title challenge this season.

Pep Guardiola’s side should be in the mix, but Arsenal possess the ability to finish ahead of their title rivals this term.
