Leandro Trossard’s new contract with Arsenal remains unsigned, with the player’s camp seemingly assessing their options in the summer market.

James McNicholas reports for The Athletic that if Arsenal can bring in a wide attacker this summer, they may be willing to listen to offers for either Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard.
In Trossard’s case, McNicholas points out that Arsenal had been in talks with the player over a new contract, improving the player’s salary but not extending the deal beyond 2027.
Yet the contract remains unsigned, with the player and his new representatives waiting to see what opportunities the summer market might bring.

The report adds that there might be issues if interest arrives too late, with Arsenal previously showing that they’re willing to turn down decent offers for Trossard if they don’t have time to sign a replacement.
Al Ittihad had made an offer in the region of €30-35m late in the 2024 summer window, but Arsenal turned it down and refused to entertain further bids. It was already September, far too late to find someone to fill Trossard’s spot in the squad.
The concern is that the same thing might happen again this time around. Arsenal have interest in the likes of Eberechi Eze, but the Crystal Palace player’s release clause will expire before the end of the summer window.
If Arsenal receive a late bid for Trossard, they may have already missed their chance to sign Eze by that stage, and the sale may no longer make sense.

With no reliable reports of clubs bidding for Trossard at this stage, it’s hard to say how this saga will end. It doesn’t seem as if Arsenal have pulled out of new contract negotiations entirely, so all options remain open.
