Viktor Gyokeres is yet to join Arsenal officially, but already a number of players in Mikel Arteta’s squad have displayed their excitement at the deal.

On Tuesday, David Ornstein broke the news that Arsenal and Sporting CP were on the verge of a total agreement for Viktor Gyokeres’ transfer. Fabrizio Romano then shared that a verbal agreement is in place, with Sporting accepting the Gunners’ most recent bid.
There are still plenty of steps to go to complete the transfer, including the formal exchange and completion of documentation, the medical, the media duties, and eventually the official announcement. But this agreement suggests those are all just formalities.
As a result, the fans have started to get excited about the prospect of Gyokeres joining the club, and the Arsenal players have too.

Arsenal academy player Josh Nichols is currently on tour with the first team in Singapore, and he shared a video on Instagram of Myles Lewis-Skelly reacting to Fabrizio Romano’s Instagram post.
Lewis-Skelly can be heard saying “here we go”, whilst imitating Gyokeres’ trademark goal celebration. Though the post was on Nichols’ private account, it quickly leaked on social media.
Arsenal youth player Luis Munoz also shared his reaction publicly, posting a picture of himself performing Gyokeres’ celebration during an academy match.

Lewis-Skelly wasn’t the only first-team player to react publicly to Romano’s Instagram post on Gyokeres’ transfer, with Declan Rice and new signing Noni Madueke both clicking like.
Academy youngsters Max Dowman and Andre Harriman-Annous liked the post as well, with both players currently on tour with Arteta’s squad.
It’s clear that the touring squad will have been boosted by the news of Gyokeres’ transfer, now the target is to add the striker to the group before the tour ends.
