Arsenal remain in contact with Eberechi Eze’s camp over a potential summer move, amid mixed reports over whether the club have started initial talks with Crystal Palace.

Ben Jacobs reported on Saturday that Arsenal still have Eberechi Eze high in their thinking, adding that initial talks have taken place with Crystal Palace.
Jacobs claims Palace made it clear that the Gunners would need to trigger Eze’s £68m release clause, or at least to match it. Arsenal are now reportedly considering whether to make a bid.
Football insider HandofArsenal reports that there has indeed been informal dialogue between the clubs very recently, but not all sources agree on that point.

Fabrizio Romano reports that there haven’t been any club-to-club talks with Palace yet, with Arsenal’s focus on outgoings right now. Though perhaps the discrepancy comes down to their respective definitions of talks, given Jacobs and HoA both stressed they were only “initial” and “informal” talks.
Regardless, the one thing all three agree on is that Arsenal are in contact with Eze’s camp and the player is keen to join.
Romano reported on his YouTube channel earlier in the day that Arsenal were considering a move after some outgoings, and they’re maintaining good contacts with the player’s camp in the meantime. He added that the player is very keen on a move, and it’s one to watch.
Jacobs confirms that Eze remains keen, and HoA writes that Arsenal is Eze’s “dream choice”.

Arsenal seem to be making some initial progress on outgoings, with Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Jesus linked with transfers in the last few days. If bids come in for Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga too, another incoming seems like a strong possibility.
And if Arsenal are going to make another signing this summer, Eze seems like the most likely candidate.
